Born in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture in 1975
1998 Graduated from Tokyo Zokei University, Department of Sculpture
1999 Joined Miyama Pottery, a family business that has been running since the late Edo period.
2000 Selected for Asahi Contemporary Craft Exhibition
2006 Selected for Asahi Ceramics Exhibition
2011 13th Tokyo-New York Sister City Exchange Ceramics Contest Honorable Mention

The pottery is mainly produced using Akatsu's traditional Oribe and Kuro Oribe.
We are also actively taking on new challenges such as the Ruri Ori Club.
It also has a good reputation for its stately style.
