Kyo-yaki/ Shimizu-yaki

Kyoyaki refers to the pottery that spread in the Higashiyama area, and Kiyomizuyaki refers to the pottery made on Gojozaka in the past. Today, all pottery made in Kyoto is called "Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki. Kyoto was the birthplace of many great potters, including Nonomura Ninsei and Ogata Kenzan, and was a capital that attracted a wide variety of selected items and people from all over Japan. As a result, it is filled with techniques and styles from various regions that have been fused and refined. The techniques that have been passed down and refined over the years continue to produce high quality vessels with the gentleness and warmth that only handmade vessels can provide.
